Matt McCoy is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional, a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® and Accredited Wealth Management Advisor® designee with Pilot Financial, and an Investment Advisory Representative of Lincoln Financial Securities Corporation, through which he offers investment and financial planning services. A graduate of Clemson University (and a diehard Tiger fan), Matt brings with him a unique background of experience that serves him well in the financial services industry. Matt lives in Kernersville with his wife, Rachel. They have 4 kids—two human and two of the canine variety. Matt volunteers within his community and values the opportunity to help others achieve what they want out of life.
As an advisor, Matt understands that life is defined by the transitions we experience—some we choose, some we don’t. He also understands how unfamiliar and disorienting transition can be—after all, your post-transition life is most likely a place you’ve never been before. Predictably, if you are disoriented, then the best thing you can do is orient yourself. Therefore, Matt understands that his primary role is to guide his clients through the financial planning process, using the 6 Principles of Financial Planning. This starts with defining meaningful goals and understanding the rules that must be used to determine a path forward, but also includes accounting for what may go wrong and keeping your plan updated with information relevant to you.
